Biography
Zitao Jiang is a researcher in building and urban environmental engineering, with research interests spanning natural ventilation, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), wind engineering, urban microclimate, and data-driven modeling.
His research combines numerical simulation, wind tunnel experiments, field measurements, and reduced-order/data-driven approaches to understand and predict airflow and environmental performance in buildings and cities.

Wind-driven and buoyancy-driven natural ventilation, single-sided and cross ventilation, turbulence effects, and indoor airflow.
Wind Engineering & Urban Environment
Building aerodynamics, pedestrian wind environments, urban airflow, pollutant dispersion, and integration of CFD with wind tunnel experiments.
Urban Microclimate & Environmental Measurement
Field and mobile measurements of outdoor thermal environments, urban morphology, waterfront cooling, solar exposure, and climate-responsive urban design.
Data-driven Building Physics
Reduced-order modeling, POD, DeepONet, sparse-sensor reconstruction, physics-informed machine learning, and real-time environmental prediction.
Building Energy & Environmental Control
Integration of airflow prediction with building energy simulation, natural ventilation potential, environmental sensing, and real-time building control.
